    AI Agent (in Paid Media)

An AI agent in paid media is software that perceives account signals, reasons about what should change, and executes that change in the ad platform — as opposed to a model that only generates text or a script that only follows fixed rules.

    Definition

An agent runs a loop: it reads signals (spend pacing, auction data, conversion lag, creative performance), forms a hypothesis about what to change, proposes a specific action, and — once approved — executes it through the platform's API. What makes it an agent rather than automation is that the action isn't pre-scripted. A rule says 'pause anything above $50 CPA.' An agent decides whether pausing is even the right move given everything else happening in the account.

    Why it matters

The distinction predicts what you're actually buying. Rules-based automation breaks the moment conditions fall outside its rules. Recommendation engines shift the work back to your team. An agent closes the loop from signal to executed change, which is where the time savings and the speed advantage actually live.

    In agentic execution

In Adlyse, agents execute optimizations across Google, Meta, TikTok, and Microsoft Ads with human approval on every change — and each approved or rejected proposal feeds the account's compounding intelligence layer, so the next proposal is sharper.
